Collier County · School Board District 5 · 2026
Ford K. Dalusma is running to raise teacher pay, keep public dollars in public schools, protect honest education, and expand vocational pathways — because every student deserves a school board that fights for them.
Priority #1
Our teachers are the backbone of every student's future. Collier County is losing experienced educators because our salary structure fails to compete. Ford will fight to change that — starting on day one.
"We can't expect Gold Medal results if we don't treat our teachers like professionals."
Ford K. Dalusma — on teacher compensation and respect for the classroom
Priority #2
Tax dollars collected from Collier County families should go directly to Collier County public school students — not to private, for-profit charter schools that operate without full public accountability.
"Public school money belongs in public schools — period."
Ford K. Dalusma — on fiscal accountability and protecting public education
Priority #3
Our students deserve honest, complete education — free from political interference. Ford opposes book bans and censorship that override the professional judgment of parents, teachers, and librarians.
"Students need honest education — not a politically filtered version of the truth."
Ford K. Dalusma — on protecting books and academic freedom
Priority #4
Florida runs on skilled labor, healthcare workers, and technical trades. Ford wants to see 25% more students enrolled in vocational pathways — because every student deserves a future, not just a diploma.
"Vocational education isn't a backup plan — it's one of the biggest drivers of our economy."

The Stakes
Make Collier the most competitive district in the region for teacher salaries
Every public tax dollar goes to public school students — not private charters
No politically motivated censorship — trust teachers, parents, and librarians
Goal to increase students in trade, dual enrollment, and apprenticeship programs
Full Platform
Beyond teacher pay, Ford has a clear, common-sense agenda focused on accountability, student success, and community trust.
Collier County is losing great educators because our pay doesn't compete. Ford will fight for competitive salaries, housing subsidies, and a pay structure that honors years of experience — so we recruit and keep the best teachers for our kids.
Priority #1Tax dollars from Collier families should serve Collier students — not private, for-profit charter schools. Ford will demand full transparency on charter costs and fight to keep public money in public classrooms where it belongs.
Priority #2Students deserve honest, complete education free from political interference. Ford opposes book bans and censorship that override the judgment of parents, teachers, and librarians — and will uphold the separation of church and state in our public schools.
Priority #3Ford's goal: 25% more students in trade certifications, dual enrollment, and apprenticeships. Florida runs on skilled labor — our schools should reflect that reality through stronger partnerships with local businesses, unions, and community colleges.
Priority #4Engaged students are safe students. Expanding after-school programs, athletics, clubs, and mentorships keeps youth on the right path. In year one, Ford's measurable goal is reducing bullying incidents while increasing graduation rates.
Students FirstTrust is earned through real communication — not just "official" emails. Ford will be accessible by phone, email, and in person. Parents, teachers, and taxpayers are the true stakeholders — and they deserve the full story on every dollar spent.

About Ford
Ford K. Dalusma is a lifelong Collier County resident, certified construction manager, and candidate for the Collier County School Board, District 5. Ford was raised in this community and has chosen to build his life and career here.
Growing up in a family of educators, he saw firsthand the vital role teachers play in shaping students’ lives and strengthening the community. That upbringing, combined with his professional background, drives his passion for strong, accountable, and transparent public schools.
His background in construction management and work at Arthrex gives him a practical, numbers-first approach to overseeing school facilities, capital projects, and bond spending — the kind of hands-on fiscal accountability that’s often missing from school board budget decisions.
Guided by the motto “We Know Better. Let’s Do Better,” Ford believes Collier County has the talent, the resources, and the community spirit to run a truly exceptional school district — and he’s running to make sure we hold ourselves to that standard.
Ford is committed to being a board member who shows up, speaks plainly, and fights for the people in the classroom — not the people in the boardroom. He treats parents, teachers, and taxpayers as the true stakeholders they are.
